Please note that cash is no longer accepted as a form of payment in Addo Elephant National Park. Clients are encouraged to make use of the speed-points (card payment system) in the Park. This is applicable to entrance/conservation fees, fuel station, activity bookings and accommodation payments.
The independently run shop and restaurant will still accept cash as a form of payment. Clients must request a cash slip/merchant card machine receipt when paying with a card as proof of payment.
Unfortunately, network challenges at Camp Matyholweni means that they are only taking CASH. Should guests not have cash with them, they will be directed to make their card payments at Main Camp before exiting at either of the gates. Park Management apologises for the inconvenience.
Benefits of the cash-free system
It will minimize the risk associated with handling cash
It will improve the customer experience as it will reduce contact time, particularly during peak times.
This will cut down on queueing time and increase time for visitors to enjoy the Park
